Below is a game-by-game preview of every Philadelphia 76ers home game this month at the Xfinity Mobile Arena:
Memphis rolls in with rookie sensation Cameron Boozer alongside the interior force of Zach Edey and veteran scoring from Jerami Grant and D'Angelo Russell. The battle of the bigs, Embiid against Edey, will be worth the price of admission. Philadelphia's guard depth with Maxey and Simons should exploit a Grizzlies defense still finding its footing. A home game the Sixers expect to control with their star power.
On the back end of a back-to-back, Philadelphia draws the ultimate frontcourt test in Nikola Jokic. The reigning-caliber Serbian will make Embiid work on both ends, and the Jokic-Murray two-man game demands disciplined defense. The Sixers lean on Brown and James to attack Denver on the wings while Maxey pressures the rim. A marquee center duel and a genuine measuring-stick night against a Western contender.
Orlando's long, physical wings in Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, now paired with sharpshooter Desmond Bane, make the Magic a tough out. Their defense can bother anyone, so Philadelphia's ball movement will be key to unlocking clean looks. Embiid holds a clear edge over Wendell Carter Jr. inside, and the Sixers should lean on him early. Expect a grind-it-out, half-court affair.
Dallas brings the reigning Rookie of the Year buzz around Cooper Flagg plus the shot-making of Kyrie Irving. Flagg's matchup with LeBron James and Jaylen Brown is a delicious clash of generations on the wing. Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford give the Mavs the athletic bigs to challenge Embiid at the rim. A high-profile night with a fascinating young-versus-established subplot.
Kevin Durant leads a formidable Houston team into Philadelphia just before the holiday, backed by the rugged athleticism of Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. Durant's matchup with Brown and James headlines a game full of two-way wings. The Sixers must handle Houston's length and offensive-rebounding, where Sengun and Jabari Smith Jr. can hurt them. Fred VanVleet's steadiness gives the Rockets a veteran hand down the stretch.
